We are currently looking for a highly motivated Field Appraiser, with prior industrial appraisal experience, for the appraisal of industrial assets while assisting and supporting the sales team in the field. This individual should have a terrific attitude and a solid understanding of the equipment utilized in the packaging and processing of food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and/or chemical products. As a member of our expert appraisal team, this position’s primary focus will be representing Loeb in the field, appraising facilities and identifying adjunct opportunities for Loeb.

Job Responsibilities:

Work within our appraisal team to ensure continuity and consistency in the work product generated by being:

  • An excellent list taker and well organized in taking photos.
  • Well organized and capable of working independently.
  • Familiar with industrial settings – able to ascertain the most efficient way to walk a facility and generate the comprehensive equipment list.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Hands on execution skills with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Perform research on machinery or processes as well as provide detailed equipment write-ups.
  • Identify machinery and equipment buying opportunities for the company.
  • Interface with sales team and other members of the organization to help ensure quality.
  • Manage, track, and analyze department promotions and events.
  • Extensive Travel – Up to 60-70% travel required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 6+ years of experience in industrial equipment or equivalent
  • AMEA certified a must, ASA is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of machinery
  • Detailed information gathering and application selling abilities.
  • Must be “Customer Satisfaction” oriented with strong written, interpersonal, oral communication and follow-up skills.
  • Must work well in a team environment and be willing to demonstrate flexibility in work hours, assignments and scope of work as required to meet objectives of the department.
  • Must possess strong technology skills in a Windows environment.
  • Experience with a cloud-based CRM a plus, especially Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Office suite
  • Strong vocabulary, spelling, and grammar knowledge to produce professionally written correspondence.
  • Ability and willingness to provide back up support as needed for all team segments.
  • College degree preferred with a technical emphasis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage project development from initiation to closure
  • Complete task breakdown structure to estimate effort required for each task as well as overall budget
  • Clearly communicate expectations to team members, customers, partners, contracted support staff, and stakeholders
  • Identify and resolve problems throughout the project life cycle
  • Lead, coach, and motivate project team on a proactive basis
  • Manage project accounting & tax functions
  • Maintain and update required state licenses, bonds & insurance requirements
  • Manage / coordinate inspectors, machinery movers, and logistics firms
  • Coordinate the release of orders to be loaded once payment is received
  • Assist Auction Leads with a variety of duties
  • Create, update, and improve process documentation
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reports as requested
  • Perform other duties as required and work on special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in business or related field
  • 3-5 year work experience in project management or operations
  • Demonstrated leadership managing people, processes, and timelines
  • Rapidly adapt and responds to changes in the work environment and priorities
  • Establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with limited supervision
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable and accounting software
  • Positive attitude team player, ability to multi-task: work with deadlines and respond to change
  • Consistent quality communication and follow up details via email, voicemail, etc.
  • Sense of urgency in actions and ability to meet and/or exceed objectives
  • Excellent speaking, listening, telephone, and writing skills
  • Experience with customer service & client relations
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM systems
