Awrey's Bakery Auction Cancelled

Facility Sold as an Ongoing Concern

Awrey Bakeries has been sold to a new entity as an On-Going Concern. The 2-day auction scheduled for February 20th & 21st, in Livonia, Michigan has officially been cancelled.

Awrey officials notified the auction group of an offer submitted at the eleventh hour to avert the break-up of the company. The offer was negotiated by Awrey officials, its consultants, attorneys and professionals. The on-going concern sale is expected to close immediately.

Loeb Winternitz, in conjunction with Rabin Worldwide & Union Confectionery Machinery, has attempted to keep all our customers informed on the status of the potential sale and appreciate their patience and understanding. The complete sale of a company prior to an auction rarely occurs, but Awrey's did have the good fortune in this circumstance. Unfortunately, so close to the scheduled auction. All of us extend our sincere apologies to everyone who planned on participating in the Awrey auction sale. Those of you whom we have spoken to were very gracious, and understanding. We truly appreciate our auction buyers and our professional relationships.

With all that our economy has been through in the last few years, we are happy to help bring a factory back to life, enable employees to regain their jobs, and to also help the City of Livonia.
